  Well, what a difference a day makes! I had really hoped that we would be able to continue teaching as normal at St Mary's but following the Prime Minister’s announcement this evening, I have been notified by Doncaster Council that we now have to move to remote learning immediately.

  
  Class teachers will be in contact tomorrow morning with details of the remote learning provision which will start on Wednesday 6 January. We will also outline the booking system for vulnerable and key worker children as required by the Department for Education. We will send further details out tomorrow about who will be able to access this provision ​from Wednesday 6 January 2021.

• Covid 19 update

  As you know, we are constantly reviewing our procedures with regard to Covid, as the safety of all is our priority. Therefore, from Monday 12 October, we respectfully ask that all parents/carers and visitors wear a face mask if they enter the school building. We ask that you avoid entering the school building unless it is necessary or you have an appointment. We recommend you also wear a mask on the school playground for drop off/collection but this is down to personal choice. We do ask, however, that you maintain social distancing at all times.

• Important announcement regarding 1 June 2020

  Dear parents/carers

  Following the Mayors announcement and the questions raised, Mrs Sanderson and Governors feel that the time is not quite right yet to re open school to YN, YR, Y1 and Y6 children on 1 June. Therefore, we will be following the council's advice to remain open for only vulnerable children and children of key workers.

  We will continue with our planning for the wider opening of school, which hopefully will take place soon and we will update parents and carers with any new information.
