The School Improvement Plan (SIP) is a working document used to set priorities and monitor progress throughout the year. The following action plans aim to bring our vision into fruition, uphold a culture of a continuous drive for improvement and give all children an experience of school that is ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10).  

Summary of School Development Priorities 

Priority 1: Curriculum and Teaching - To further develop foundational skills and knowledge across the curriculum. 

1a) To upskill teachers to easily identify barriers to learning for children and adapt teaching accordingly 

1b) Ensure that curriculum and teaching enables children to effectively transition from early reading into wider reading. 

1c) To embed whole school approach to teaching and learning of foundational skills and knowledge in writing. 

1d) To embed the maths implementation model across the whole school. 

Priority 2: Leadership and Governance - Leaders at all levels make a consistently positive contribution to realising the school’s priorities 

2a) Ensure there is a rigorous and robust process to support leaders to monitoring at all levels 

2b) Governors to ensure their monitoring informs school evaluation 

2c) To ensure all leaders and staff understand the SIAMS framework and embed the Chrisitan vision and values of St Mary’s. 

2d) Continue to monitor the behaviour policy to drive improvements in behaviour
