Foundation 1

Hello and welcome to F1 (Nursery). Mrs Cave is our Teacher and our Nursery Nurse is Mrs Bevington.

We do some of our learning with Reception (Lumley) as part of our Foundation Stage unit. Their teacher is Mrs Kabesh and their TA is Mrs Holmes.

In the Summer term:

Summer Term 1: 'Mary, Mary Quite Contrary' (Linked to Living Things)

During this half term, we are carrying out activities linked to both gardening and living things. We will be sowing seed in the garden and linking this concept to the story of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. The children will enjoy imaginary play in the vets (where they will be learning how to look after out pets) and also in a jungle (to learn about different types of animals and creatures).

Summer Term 2 - Topic: 'We're all going on a Summer holiday'

During Summer Term 2, we learning about the different types of holidays we can have and also share our experiences of holidays. The children will be learning about holidays of the past and also different modes of transport. We will also learn about sea creatures and animals that live under the sea.

Hello! My name is Harriet and I’m the Nursery pet hamster. I enjoy running around in my ball and sleeping. My favourite foods are apple and carrot. The Nursery children often save me some for my dinner! I’m a very friendly hamster and I like to climb in my cage so I can see the children.

Look at our learning.

In the Autumn term we are studying two topics – ‘We are Family’ (linked to the ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ story) and ‘What can we have to eat today’ (a study of the different types of food we like to eat). We learn a lot of our topic work through both play and through teacher led activities.

During the Autumn/Winter months, your child may need to have a pair of wellies for outdoor play.
