Summer 1

Welcome back! I hope everyone has had an extremely restful Easter period with loved ones. This term will see Laughton class venture out on residential as this term focuses on Castleton and human and physical geography. Our English will look at fictional writing as we focus on setting descriptions and our class text, Journey, is a picture book which will bring our ideas to life. In Maths, we will be concentrating on decimals, money and time. As we move forward towards the multiplication tables check in June, I can't encourage you all enough to focus, focus, focus on times tables at any given free minute.

Spring 2- Good Vibrations

This term will see us focus upon the wonderful world of Science and, more specifically, Physics. We will be exploring sound and the science behind it all. Our unit in Maths will focus on fantastic fractions and our English and Reading units will focus upon The Pied Piper of Hamelin. P.E will be on a Tuesday and will be a dance unit led by Active Fusion. 

Autumn 2- Who were the Significant Saxons?

I hope everyone had a wonderful half term. This term we will be time travelling as we venture back in time and explore the Anglo-Saxon period of history and the crucial figures from this period. Maths will see us look at Area and Multiplication and Division. English will see us build tension based around the short clip Alma as well as some journalistic writing! P.E will still be on a Monday and a Tuesday. We will be also continuing with Chemistry as well as French and Art. A busy build up to Christmas is full steam ahead!

Welcome Back!

Hello everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer. Now the hard work begins!

Our first topic focuses on the geography of North America. We will also look at the rich history of the continent whilst diving into Henry's Freedom Box as our class text. Excitedly, we also have a harvest performance to look forward to as the first class of the year to do so. P.E will be on a Tuesday and a Friday and the children will need shoes, shorts and a shirt.
