Our Visit to the Local Park

The children in Nursery were very excited to visit our local park. They helped each other to use the equipment and had a wonderful time playing together in a new place. Thank you to all of our fabulous adult helpers.

Around the World

This half term we will be learning about different places in the world. We will be packing suitcases with clothes for different holiday destinations and creating our very own beach in the classroom.

Once Upon a Time

Happy New Year Everyone!

This half term we will be exploring Traditional Stories. We will be learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Beanstalk. We have planned lots of exciting activities including; Making and tasting porridge, Going on a woodland walk, Planting beans, Climbing ladders and making a huge beanstalk using boxes, paper and paint.

Just before half term we will be learning all about Chinese New Year and exploring Chinese food, dance and culture.

Autumn 2 Whizz, Bang, Pop!

During this half term we will be learning all about celebrations.

We are exploring Bonfire night, Diwali, Birthdays and Christmas.

We will be talking about what we do when we are celebrating; and we will be sharing experiences from our own lives. We will compare our celebrations and look for things that are the same and things that are different.

We will be exploring the hall and the outdoor areas to develop our physical skills such as throwing and catching, running on different terrains and avoiding obstacles.

We will be reading the story of Kipper’s birthday and learning to retell it with a beginning, middle and end.

In Maths we will be learning about the numbers from 1-5 and talking about basic 2D and 3D shapes.

We will be exploring changes when we bake cakes for a birthday party.

We will be taking part in various creative activities based on celebrations and we will be practising for our two performances. Nursery Rhyme week and the Christmas Concert.
