Summer Two- Where's My Funny Bone? 

 

Welcome back I hope you had a lovely half term. Doesn't time fly.... 

 

This half term will be just as busy as the rest. We are looking at Time,Shape and Statistics in maths and we will be writing an information leaflet on being healthy. In science we will be looking at our bodies and making sure that we are looking after them by eating all the right food groups. 

 

From this we will then be making a healthy snack in DT. I am sure you will all enjoy making and eating!! 

 

Some other things we will be joining in with is Sing out, Sports Day and having an Athletics competition in school. We will have an enjoyable and fun last term before you go off to Year 4! 

 

PE will be on a Monday and Tuesday. Please leave your PE kit in school.

Robin Hood- Knowledge Organiser

Summer One- Who was Robin Hood? 

 

Welcome back! I hope that you have all had a lovely Easter holiday. 

This half term we will be looking at Robin Hood and who he was. In English we will be writing our own Myths and Legends and writing a Newspaper Report all about our trip to Sherwood Forest. In maths we will be looking at Mass and Capacity and  Fractions. 

 

I am very excited to be going on a residential with the children where we will be doing lots of fun and exciting activities! We will be spending a night away! 

 

PE will be on a Monday and Thursday. Please can your child bring their PE in on Monday and leave it in school.

Spring Term- What did the Romans do for us? 

Happy New Year!!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and like me have eaten lots of delicious food! 

 

This next term is a busy one and we will be looking at 'What did the Romans do for us?' We will be looking at Boudicca, Julius Caesar and thinking about how the Romans impacted Britain. In maths we will be continuing Multiplication and Division and then moving on to Length and Perimeter. In Guided Reading we will be looking at the story Escape from Pompeii. We will also be creating our own volcano and designing our own catapult in Design and Technology. 

 

We will also be having an exciting Romans Day on the 17th January where we will be looking at the Roman Army, artefacts and we will be trying out some Roman writing!! 

 

Please note our PE days will be on Monday and Thursday.

The children had a great time at Creswell Craggs!! They went into a cave, learnt survival skills and identified different rocks. The children asked lots of interesting questions and all said they had a fantastic time!

Hello Everyone! 

I hope you have all had a lovely summer and are ready to start in Year 3.

 

Our first week back we will be reading the book We are Family, where we will be writing poems about our families and doing some fabulous Art work.  We also have an exciting trip to Creswell Craggs planned!! 

 

After this, we will be looking at our topic which is Rock of Ages. In English and Guided reading we will be looking at the texts  Stone Age Boy and  How to Wash A woolly Mammoth. We will be learning about different types of rocks and comparing them and completing some Cave Art. 

 

Our PE days will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Please remember to send your child in with their PE kit and leave them in school as we will be having weekly PE sessions. This half term we will be having forest school on a Wednesday. Please remember to fully label your child's clothes. 

 

I can't wait to see you soon.
