This term our Topic is 'Where in the World ?'
We will be learning about different countries and continents and learning to find similarities and differences. Smal Worlds Travel Agents have kindly donated many booklets so the children will be able to use these in the jet set, role play area.
Mrs Holmes will also be taking small groups out most afternoons to do some cooking around the world so this should be a really fun topic.
We have started the term by learning a story called, Around the World we go! It is a lovely story and we are using it as a base to create our own poems called, Around the World we go!
We will then move onto learning about writing fact files for a few select countries.
Over the last 3 weeks of term we will be learning about a story called, Africa is not a Country. We will learn and adapt this story.
In Mathematics, we are learning about weight and capacity for the first 2 weeks. We will then move onto learning about multiplication, division and fractions.
Please send homework books in every Thursday so that we can complete our spelling test on Friday and return the books ready for the weekend.
Thank you for your support
PE kits will be needed for children. Our PE lessons will take place on a Friday afternoon during 'Fitness Friday'. (You will be already familiar with this!) PE kits can be left at school for each half term and then taken home to be washed during the holidays! Please ensure all kits are labelled clearly with names (shorts included please.)
