Welcome to Year 5

Our class is called Scarbrough . Our teacher is called Miss Druce  and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Allen and Mrs Jewison.

Summer Term 2

Well done Year 5 you were fantastic on our field trip to Whitby and the work you have done on it is a supberb. A big thank you to you all for your fundraising with the cake baking. You raised over £175! Well done. Don't forget to look under 'What has Scarbrough Been Doing?  Our news' to see all the pictures that were taken. 

We learnt such a lot about the Greeks from the visit to see 'Groovy Greeks' and I am sure you are raring to go on our research to find out if you would rather have been born Spartan or Athenian. We will also look at some Black Figure vase painting showing Olympic scenes and recreate our own. We will also  find  out about Greek democracy and how it has influenced our voting system today.

We will also be very busy working on 'Go For Gold' our Year 5 and 6 production. You will need to learn all the lines and the words from the songs so no formal homework will be set in these last few weeks. The challenge for your creative homework is to organise and make your costume for the performance. We will send some ideas to help very soon.

Our P.E days are Mondays and/ or Wednesdays but please try to have your kit in school every day. Swimming kit is needed on Friday. For indoor PE you will need black shorts and a white T Shirt. For outdoor games you will need trainers and a black or blue tracksuit.
